The fourth time Soho's leading VFX event was brought to life

From artists creating characters for the new Guardians of the Galaxy, to architects designing the next eye-popping skyscraper Creative Rooms is first and foremost a community knowledge sharing event.

Each time it's themed around something crucial to the visual effects industry. In October 2016 we chose Moving Pixels - a somewhat enigmatic title that covers all manner of topics. Whether it's the infrastructure needed to move data from one place to another, or the actual animation happening in front of our eyes we had it all. Presentations, seminars, training, and panel discussions all took place over three days at Oui2 Rooms in Central London.

With sponsors including HP, NVIDIA, and EIZO it was important to make this the best Creative Rooms yet.

As Creative Lead at Escape Technology, and the founder of Creative Rooms itself, I am responsible for making this event not simply exist, but making it something worthy and of note.

My role includes the planning, logistics, design, direction, and running of Creative Rooms. Months of work go into each one we host and they're only made possible by working with some incredible partners and suppliers.

Our fantastic photographer, Bath-based Owen Benson, is always on hand to capture the moments as they happen and our video agency provides us with the footage we need to document each session and promote the next ones. This time round I have edited the footage together myself.

The Media Services Company provide our staging and lights, and we work closely with a number of other providers for furniture, the bar, music and so on.

And while I'm on hand all day everyday to make sure things are running smoothly, I'm certainly not shy of mucking in when needed!
